A is for Ainsley | Calendars for a Cause

At the end of October, after finding a large growth on her cheek, three year old Ainsley was diagnosed with Embroynal Rhabdomyosarcoma. This dear little girl, too young to really understand what is happening, will be going through 22 weeks of chemo therapy at the Detroit Children’s Hospital. Detroit is located almost eight hours away from this little girl's hometown of Marquette, Michigan. Costs are accruing quickly for Ainsley's family, as you can imagine. Ainsley’s mom Patty, also fought breast cancer two years ago.

The people in Ainsley's community, like my friend Samantha, are working together to raise money for Ainsley and her family. They are selling adorably designed calendars, sized 5 x 7, for $12.00. If you're in need of a gift for someone, this is one that keeps on giving! All the proceeds cover the cost of materials and the rest goes to Ainsley. These little calendars would be perfect for teacher gifts, stocking stuffers, co-workers, and even for yourself if you need a desk side calendar. Hop on over to Calendar for A Cause's Etsy shop for purchasing details.

Update: So many of you have been sharing this post on Facebook. THANK YOU. You rock.

Love for Oklahoma

My heart is breaking for the people of Moore, Oklahoma. Tragedy has struck our nation, and our world, on such a large scale these past few months. I am praying for the people of Oklahoma, near and far, and for the healing of that community. Remember, you can help bring aid even if you live across the country by donating to the Red Cross Disaster Relief. Visit their website at redcross.org for the simple ways you can help. You can also text to REDCROSS to 90999 to make a $10 donation.

Jenna's Whimsical Handmade Goods.

Meet Jenna. She is more than just my cousin. More than just a best friend. More than just a woman with a huge heart and a love for the little things. More than just a girl with a crazy creative mind and an expansive imagination. And more than just a grown up who is okay with posing like a dinosaur :)  Jenna and her sister Katie have been more like sister's to me. Some of my best memories are from adventures with these two. Jenna has always been that older girl in my life who I thought (and still think) was just so cool. And let me tell you, she is cool and so much more.
Jenna is the creator of Jennasaurusfun-- her darling Etsy shop full of handmade goods. Crocheted octopus cozies, whimsical beanies (like "Lucy" the dinosaur above), scarves, and a new line that I am so excited about! Teaming up with her design smart husband Blake, there are wooden rings in her shop. A monster, diamond, and owl are first to premiere. And I hear she has so many more to come. You should go check Jenna out. I promise, you will love her.
