Subtle White Ombré Barstools

We have moved four times in four years. That's a lot of opportunities to clean out and take furniture inventory! Every space has been so different from the next, so we have loyally stuck to Craigslist, thrift stores, and flea markets for our furniture. While renting our apartment, I find myself not wanting to spend a whole lot on furniture, knowing that one day, when we are home owners, the space might call for something completely different. Of course our bed, our couch, and a few vintage pieces from my Grandmother are going to be perfect in any home we end up in. But the odds and ends--like barstools--I opt to go cheap and DIY.
We've never had a high counter until moving to Denver. Its so great to have a large tall space! This counter serves as a multi purpose area, housing messy painting projects, candlelit dinners, and a catch all for the daily movement through our little home. I found these rather plain barstools on Craigslist for $10 when we first moved in. I had been putting off painting them for a year, literally, because I demised the fact that I would have to sand them down and strip the coating. One of those projects I always put on the end of my to-do list...

Wire Chairs

Everything about this table setting pulls me in. The reclaimed wood. The crisp white rectangle dinnerware. The subtle green succulents. But most of all, the wire chairs. When we went on a walk last weekend, I could not help but swoon over a backyard we passed by. Among the spring blooms, wire chairs and a vintage patio set brought a sense of invitation and vintage nostalgia to the yard. Although I do not have a yard of my own, I think a set would gladly be welcomed at a dining room table. I have been checking in with my pal Craiglist to see if any wire chairs pop up. Don't you just love the juxtaposition of a wire chair with soft pillows and a throw in a bedroom space even!? Last night, I discovered these on the interwebs, just a few miles away from my house and ready for purchase...

For the Love of {Chair} Fabric and Curves.

There are two chairs that I am currently obsessed with. One being a Pinterest find, the other being a Goodwill find. Can you guess which is which? {Not that the huge 'Buy Me!' tag doesn't give it away} I have some alterations I need to make to the Goodwill find, including doing something with the legs that are black and somewhat of an eye sore. But OH. MY. GOODNESS. The seat shape is just to die for. It is real wood. The print is ever so vintage. And the black painted detail is just the cherry on top. The details of the Pinterest find are equally if not more appealing (that plaid, the leather piping, those curves!), but I would be too lucky of a girl if I owned both. Question posed by my husband, "Where are you going to put these chairs?" First, did I mention the Goodwill find came with a twin! Yes, great things do come in twos. Second, in response to his question, "Who knows yet, but I will make it work!" Wouldn't you for two beauties like that for $12 each? Any thoughts on what year the Goodwill find may be from, or ideas for leg transformation? Happy Friday!

It's Named "Chair No. One Eighty" in Plaid, HERE
