Whenever November is nearing, I get into birthday party excitement. I don't even have birthday parties anymore, but the though of balloons, homemade decorations, streamers, pom poms, and cake candles set in this nostalgia of childhood. Piñatas, birthday surprises, party dresses, and a day where its okay to feel a bit spoiled. A Pinkies Up Giveaway with Shabby Apple!

The scalloped top of that yellow dress is feminine and perfect combo of modern and retro, and the lace skirt with the big floppy bow would be so cute either dressed up for a fancy event, or even worn with a tucked in cotton tee and ballet flats. Put me in that striped dress or peplum skirt, and yes, I wouldn't want to wear anything else--love the silhouttes! 

The maxi dress I just adore is this effortlessly comfortable yet classy strapped wrap like style in grey and black. Talk about long, lean, and versatile. I am also quite the legging fan, pairing this go-to with slouchy sweaters and boots right now for fall, or even with a tunic and sneakers for errands about town-- and the ones below are perfect for both looks. For a day in the city, I would go with the bottom looks. The color combinations are surprising & cheery, and I love the way the white dress is styled with opaque yellow leggings. Can you tell that I am a little too into yellow? 

The collections I loved the most were Roamin Holiday { scalloped yellow dress, lace & bow skirt }, The Lighthouse { islands maxi, maritime leggings }, The Block { white matinee dress, crosswalk skirt } and All Aboard {striped whistlestop dress, peplum skirt }.  I can't wait to see your favorites!

Pearls Poppies Pinkies Up is having a giveaway!

To continue with the love for buttons and to celebrate two months of being a blog (with visitors from all over the map stopping in), this giveaway is both a thank you to readers like you who have a love for old meets new, repurposing, thrifting, diy, and affordable lovely in the home as well as a fun way for one of you to get a hand me down piece of crafted art! This darling button art is made with neutral toned buttons stitched on a tan fabric, with a vintage looking frame that is a bit worn around the edges. The words "Love" stitched across the heart of buttons is a reminder of just that, to Love often. Who made this art is unknown, but the piece has been in my home for the past year after I found it at a fun little shop in Southern California.
